Agentic AI in Academic Workflows

Monday, February 23rd from 3:00 p.m. –4:00 p.m. | TEE 214

#AI is already in our classroom. The real question is: are we using it well?

On Feb 23 at 3:00 PM, our Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers Student Chapter at Colorado State University Pueblo is hosting a hands-on session on how students are using agentic AI tools (Cursor, VS Code, GitHub Copilot) for coursework, coding, and research.

Best part: this is student-led. George James (our Mechatronics Engineering student) will show how he actually uses these tools in real academic workflows, what helps, what does not, and how to do it responsibly.

If you are a student: come see how a peer is doing it.

If you are faculty: come see what “AI in learning” looks like in practice.

Looking forward to a good discussion.

2026 National TRIO Day at CSU Pueblo

Wednesday, February 25th from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. | OSC-Great Hall

Celebrating 40 Years of National TRIO Day

On February 24, 1986, Congress officially designated the first National TRIO Day, calling the nation’s attention to the needs, aspirations, and extraordinary potential of students from low-income, first-generation backgrounds who are seeking to improve their lives through education. Since that historic moment, the TRIO community has gathered on the fourth Saturday of each February to honor student success, strengthen community partnerships, elevate alumni voices, and expand public understanding of the life-changing role TRIO programs play in students’ lives.

In 2026, we mark a milestone moment: the 40th anniversary of National TRIO Day. For decades, TRIO has ensured that talent, determination, and ambition—not income or background—define a student’s future. More than six million TRIO alumni have gone on to earn degrees, pursue meaningful careers, strengthen the nation’s workforce, uplift their families, and serve their communities. National TRIO Day is an annual reminder that when we invest in students from low-income, first-generation backgrounds, the returns are profound—measured not only in diplomas and professional success, but also in civic engagement, generational mobility, and lasting social impact.

Join us to meet the staff and students from each of our six TRIO programs—Upward Bound, Student Support Services, Educational Opportunity Center, Veterans Upward Bound, Educational Talent Search, and the Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program.

We will also be collecting personal hygiene products, canned and boxed food, new and gently used clothing, coats, and socks. All donated items will be delivered to our community partner, the Pueblo Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Food Pantry.
