Network upgrade requires service outage on August 8

As part of Colorado State University’s ongoing effort to modernize campus technology infrastructure, the Division of IT will complete a major network upgrade in the early hours of Saturday, August 8.
This work is part of the Network Core Upgrade, a multi-phase project that replaces aging infrastructure and improves the reliability, performance, and long-term sustainability of CSU’s network.
During the maintenance window, network traffic will transition to a new path. Several key university systems will be unavailable across the Pueblo, Fort Collins, and Spur campuses. Students, faculty, and staff should plan ahead and expect interruptions to certain services.

Grade entry and all other functions will be unavailable beginning 30 minutes before the maintenance window. Service is expected to be restored by 5 a.m.
Other university applications
Users may experience brief interruptions when accessing Workday, Canvas, Kuali, and other systems that rely on NetID login and network connectivity.
The maintenance window was selected in consultation with campus stakeholders to minimize disruption to academics and operations while providing sufficient time for the work to be completed.
