Two Students Awarded Campus’ Top Prizes
Colorado State University Pueblo presented its two most prestigious student honors at the annual Student Involvement and Leadership Awards ceremony Thursday night at the Occhiato Student Center Ballroom.
Evan Smith received the Threlkeld Prize for Excellence, and Arielle Collins received the Diane Blackwell President’s Leadership Award.
Both awards are selected by faculty and staff committees that evaluate nominees for academic achievement, campus involvement, and service to the university and surrounding community.
Threlkeld Prize for Excellence
Evan Smith
Named for the late Budge Threlkeld, a former administrator and professor, the Threlkeld Prize has been awarded since 1990 to a graduating senior who excels academically and contributes meaningfully to campus and community life.

Smith graduates with both an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, concentrating in economics and finance, with a minor in leadership studies.
After graduation, Smith plans to pursue a career as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force.

Collins will walk at spring commencement on May 16, receiving her diploma alongside the Threlkeld recipient.
