Tech Essentials for Students: Free M365 and Cybersecurity Tips

Another semester at CSU Pueblo means new classes, familiar faces, and probably a few technology questions you didn’t even know you had yet. Good thing the Division of IT for the CSU System has been busy making sure you’re covered.

 Important Update

Unsupported devices for Duo: Starting January 12, 2026, devices running on the following systems will no longer be supported for Duo two-factor authentication: 

  • Windows 7 or 8 
  • Outdated versions of macOS, iOS, or Android 

If you use one of these devices to authenticate, please plan to upgrade or switch to a supported device before 1/12/2026.

Essential Resources

Download M365 apps for free: Did you know you can download and install the full version of M365 Office free of charge! Visit portal.office.com and log in with your NetID@colostate.edu email address and NetID password to get Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and the entire suite of Microsoft products.   

Stay cybersecure: Learn how to keep your information safe and secure while learning at CSU. Find quick tips for spotting phishing attempts, reporting suspicious emails, and more at https://it.colostate.edu/stay-cybersecure-at-csu/

Access your CSU email account: Your CSU email is the primary way the university shares important communications with you. Log in to your email with your NetID@colostate.edu email address and NetID password to stay in the know.  

Need help? The quickest way to get assistance from the Division of IT is by submitting a help request. Walk-up support is also available Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm, on the first floor of the Library and Academic Resource Center (LARC), Office 130.
