Explore and use AI with confidence: resources for faculty and staff.
Whether you’re curious about artificial intelligence (AI) or already using it in your workflow, new resources for faculty and staff at Colorado State University make it easier to understand AI, choose tools and use them responsibly. You bring your expertise and judgment; the Division of IT provides tools, guidance and learning opportunities to support you.
Here’s what’s available now:
AI website: governance and guidance
One home for CSU’s AI responsible-use guidance, standards and literacy resources. Start here if you have questions about what’s allowed, what’s available at each campus and how to protect data. AI at the CSU System
AI tool selector
Not sure which AI tool to use? Answer a few questions and get a recommendation. Filter 16 tools by role, data type and task. CSU’s primary tools are Microsoft Copilot and CSU-GPT, powered by Nebula One. AI tool selector
AI agent library
An AI agent is an assistant customized for a specific task, so you don’t have to start from scratch each time. The library launches with four agents built by CSU colleagues that can help you develop program learning outcomes and curriculum maps, generate alternative text for images and navigate the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) acquisition process. Browse the AI agent library. Built an agent? Submit it to be added to the directory.
Microsoft 365 Copilot Premium
The premium version of Copilot brings advanced AI capabilities into your email, files, chats, calendar and meetings. Because it can draw on information you already have permission to access, it helps you find answers faster, catch up quickly and move work forward without switching between tools. Licenses are available for $20 per month, paid annually by a department account number. Request a Copilot Premium license
Ask Microsoft sessions
Bring questions about Microsoft 365 tools, including Copilot, to live sessions with Microsoft experts every other Monday from 1 to 1:30 p.m. MT, Nov. 16, 2026, through May 17, 2027. There are no set presentations or topics, so join whenever you need help. These events will be added to the university event calendar or you can download the calendar files directly.
These resources are just the start. Work across the CSU System continues to shape AI in policy and practice. For now, the resources above offer practical ways to get started.
However you use AI, review its output, protect university information and keep human judgment at the center.
